GUILTY PLEA IN ANOKA MURDER CASE

-March 5, 2010

An outpouring of emotions in a packed courtroom Monday as a man charged with murder struck a deal with prosecutors.

33-year-old Timothy Boland pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the death of his brother's girlfriend Natasha Waalen. Back in December, 34-year-old Ryan Boland pleaded guilty to aiding an offender.

Ryan Boland testified that he and Waalen were arguing inside their Anoka home when his brother got out of a chair and beat her to death with a baseball bat. Authorities say the two men then moved her body and motorcycle to a location in Andover to stage a traffic accident in an effort to cover up the murder.

Before being removed from Monday's court hearing, the victim's mother screamed an expletive at Timothy Boland saying quote "you killed my daughter. I hope you rot in hell."
