Zon Nienaber

Sometimes you just walk into the job. That's exactly what happened with Zon Nienaber. Called upon to fill in as an announcer for a basketball game in December of 1997, Zon so impressed the staff of CTN that he was hired immediately. His extensive knowledge of many sports and history of Coon Rapids High School gives CTN Sports a "go to" guy when in need.

When he's not giving in-depth analysis on the game, Zon is an account manager in the bulk sales department for Coca-Cola and an assistant football coach for the Coon Rapids Cardinals.

According to Zon, he has two favorite CTN experiences. The first, watching Joe and Howie call the 1999 Cardinal Football win in Stillwater while sitting with all the Ponie Fans.  The second, would be watching the Cardinal wrestlers defeat the Anoka Tornadoes in a dual meet this year (03-04 season), clinched on a pin by senior Sean Williams.

Zon is married to Caren and has two sons Zach 21 and Alex 16.
