Eric Strouse
Production Supervisor
strouse@ctnstudios.com

Eric leads the award winning CTN Sports team and his extensive background  makes it one of the best in the region.  His experience started with  PBS in Fresno, CA as a master control technician.   He also freelanced as a camera operator for mobile productions including semi-pro football and high school sports.

Apparently sick of the warm winters, he moved to Minnesota and took a position as the Mobile Production Coordinator for the Blaine Public Access.  It was there that he produced the coverage for Minnesota Thunder Pro Soccer along with high school sports.

That experienced propelled him to Sports Director for KABL Sports in which he produced and directed live coverage of St. Paul Saints baseball, college games, and high school sporting events.  While working for KABL, he took a part time job with the City of Coon Rapids Cable Department (now CTN Studios)  as a production technician.  Finally, in 1996 the city convinced him to go full-time as their Sports Director and AV Production Manager.

Since 1996, coverage of sporting events for CTN Studios  has expanded greatly to include live Minnesota Thunder Soccer, Coon Rapids High School Sports, and Golden Gloves Boxing,  In 1999, Eric spear-headed the move to start production of Sportsnight.

Raised in a rural community in Pennsylvania, Eric played football in high school and basketball in college.  During the summers, he paid for college by working for his family's excavating business. That work ethic followed him as he moved up the ladder in the television industry.  In March of 2000, he married former Coon Rapids High School graduate, Carey (Faucett) Strouse in Negril, Jamaica.  June of 2001 they were blessed with son Brandon and February of 2004 blessed with a daughter Emma.

He has three favorite CTN Sports moments. The first was the Coon Rapids vs. Champlin Park playoff hockey game that went seven overtimes.  It stands out because it was end to end action.  The second being the Coon Rapids Boys Basketball team upset of Blaine at the buzzer at Blaine High School in the 1999-2000 season.  The third is the Coon Rapids Football team's victory over Stillwater at their homecoming in 1999.
