"Talk of the
Town" debuted January of 2002 and has been going strong
since. "Talk of the Town" is all about the interesting people and activities in our community that
make this area such a great place to live. Each month you can catch an inside glimpse of the lives of
interesting people and gain insight into activities and events in Anoka County. It's a chance to meet people
and experience things you may never get to otherwise. You'll be surprised at the interests,
goals, passions, and dreams of people in this area and hopefully come
away with a new found interest in an activity you would like to try
yourself. We
certainly live in an exciting community that is full of talented people!
Each
month we feature a guest from our area and then go on to bring you
interesting topics in one or more of the following categories:
'Lifestyle', 'Closer Look' and 'Just for Fun'. We find our guests and
events by researching various topics and organizations and by listening to
suggestions from other people in the community and sometimes, just by
pure luck! We never know when we're going to meet a
fascinating person or find a great topic to expose our audience to!

PRODUCTION
TEAM
Stephanie
Ring - Executive Producer/Host
She likes to spend a
lot of time getting to know her guests...to see what really makes them
"tick". Stephanie also loves to have fun with her
guests! No matter if it's learning how to shoot a bow and arrow
for the first time (she learned from the pro,
Kathy Strecker so it's
no wonder she hit the bulls eye the FIRST SHOT!), braving the cold and danger of snowmobile racing on a
frozen lake
with The Dalton's, or skydiving with
Kerry
McCauley (ok, ok... she was only able to watch due to liability issues -
but
she'll be back with her videographer Steve close in tow,
on their OWN time!). She's
always up for a little adventure. Most importantly, Stephanie
loves getting to know each person on a more personal level through her
special style of interviewing. By the time the production is
over, she can truly say she's made a new friend. What a great job
to have!
Stephanie
lives in the north metro with her husband, two daughters and dog
Cajun. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys biking, home
decorating, and playing with her kids. She loves her job here at
CTN Studios!

Steve Wachter
- Associate Producer/Videographer
His goal is to make our show
look the best it can be! His eye for detail and his goal of perfection helps make the show look
its best from lighting to sound. Steve enjoys getting to know each guest on the program
as well. He is more than willing to add to the visuals by joining
in the activities such as donning a pair of roller skates to shoot footage for the
Renee Scheuermann interview (ran
out of time to show that, but he didn't fall once!), braving the
tattoo needle for the
Karl Kerssen
interview and strapping himself down in an airplane to capture
Kerry
McCauley and the gang leaping out at 13,000 feet! Can you
say breathtaking? He'll do just about anything for a great shot
or a different perspective.
Steve
lives in the north metro with his two animals. He spends his free time bicycling
Bunker Hills Park, motorcycling, camping, computer graphics, spending
time with his 'little' through Big Brothers Big Sisters and building projects (take a look at all the sets in
our studios, he designed and built ALL of them! Nice job huh?). He's
also a strong advocate for the rights of the disabled after meeting his best friend Dave, who had Spina-Bifida. It
wasn't an easy life and Dave's life ended suddenly in September, 2004
at the age of 41. Now Steve volunteers his time as webmaster for
the Minnesota Spina-Bifida Association and is intent on starting a non-profit
organization to fund those in need of equipment and activities to
enrich their lives, using Dave's life and struggles as a
template.
