One thing you can never say about
Kerry is that his feet are planted well on the ground. On the contrary
Kerry enjoys the sport of skydiving and has been owner of Skydive Twin
Cities, in Baldwin Wisconsin, for many years now.
Kerry Graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1980. Since
then he has had a career in the military and then when he got out, a
friend of his got him hooked on skydiving. When this friend told
Kerry that the school was up for sale he jumped on the
idea.
Not only is he partial owner of the business, but he also gets to
teach new divers the 'ropes' as well as videotape the experiences for
the guests upon completion of their jump.
Kerry
says that on the rare occasions when the main parachute doesn't open,
he can always rely on his backup. As a matter of fact he states
that it brings a little more excitement to an "otherwise boring
afternoon."
If you recognize his last name you may realize that his parents,
Lonni and Dave McCauley are both former Coon Rapids Mayors and his
father is county commissioner. Kerry says his parents weren't
thrilled with his dangerous career, but that they seem fine with it
"or at least they don't hassle me about it anymore.".
There's no doubt that owning a skydiving operation isn't your
typical day at the office for Kerry McCauley. And he says he
wouldn't have it any other way.
