PaintCare Minnesota

As of November 1, 2014, Minnesota is part of a paint stewardship law that makes recycling paint properly more convenient for residents. There are over 200 retailers that will take unwanted, leftover paint. There is no fee for dropped off paint, PaintCare is funded by a fee added to the purchase of paint.

There are limits to the amount of paint that can be dropped off per visit. Sites accept house paint and primer, stain, sealer and clear coatings but do not accept aerosol (spray cans), solvents and others. Paint must be in its original container with original printed label and secure lid.

Paint, as well as other household hazardous waste, can be taken to the Anoka County facility.
