2021 Projects

Planning for 2021 street reconstruction projects is underway! At its August 18, 2020 meeting, City Council approved a proposed plan to reconstruct approximately 6.6 miles of local streets. A map showing the project locations is available below.

If you have questions about street reconstruction in the city or would like additional information, contact Engineering at 763-767-6479 or engineering@coonrapidsmn.gov.

2021 Street Reconstruction Open House Information

Typically, Engineering staff hosts two public open houses to present project information and answer questions residents and property owners may have. Due to event restrictions caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19), staff is considering new options to communicate with affected property owners such as live online meetings or prerecorded presentations.

Please check this webpage often for the latest information, and watch your mail for project notifications. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together to find solutions during this ever-changing public health situation.

Reconstruction Costs

The majority of project costs will be paid for by the City, with a portion proposed to be assessed to benefiting properties. Public and assessment hearings will be conducted in February; affected property owners will be notified by our Assessing Department via United States Postal Service mail.
