Police Explorers

Police Explorers (associated with the Boy Scouts of America) is designed for males and females ages 14 to 20, who have an interest in law enforcement. Explorers train with police officers to handle scenarios including burglary, assaults, domestic disturbances, building searches and many other areas.

The program tries to help build the maturity and self-confidence of the members involved.

The Coon Rapids Police Explorer's Post competes against other explorers at the state Explorer Conference each spring in Rochester, Minnesota.

How to Apply

If you are interested in joining the Police Explorers, contact Officer Tim Morin at 763-767-6472. Applicants must pass a background check to be considered.

Requirements

  • Must be age 14 to 20
  • Must maintain a C average or better in school
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Must participate in weekly meetings
  • Willing to volunteer for community events
